The previous reviewer must have bought from a crappy retailer. I can recommend UniqueSquared. Got two NU1000DSP and a NU3000 so far from these guys at a good price through Amazon, sent fairly fast, definitely brand new, and working fine. Just called them about stock on another NU3000 and learned they have a nice direct purchase thing, so I guess I'll stop buying through Amazon, heh.
Really amazingly good amps. Minimal residual carrier left on the signal, only about 1V RMS on the NU1000, and the switching frequency is pretty high, like about 350 kHz, so totally safe for your tweeters and shouldn't cause interference with your other gear.
Only thing is you have to de-rate the power a bit if you are interested in knowing the power available for a pure sine wave. The ratings seem to be quoted for a signal with significant complexity, which is real-world and a fair thing to do, but hard to compare. I'd say the maximum RMS sine wave power is about 90% of the...
