Pyramid NS12 12 Amp InLine Noise Suppressor
Works perfectly to remove all ignition noise at my accessory socket
I have a Honda s2000, and always had noise thorugh the AUX input of my stereo while using a MP3 player plugged into the accessory socket. I would say it sounded like a buzzing or whistling... the pitch matches the RPM of the engine. It did not happen when not plugged into power or if the engine was not running. Therefore, I figured my alternator or ignition was sending noise through the 12V power line.
I installed this NS-12 directly behind the accessory (lighter) socket. I'm glad there was a lot of open space behind the panel, because this unit is rather large.
The noise is COMPLETELY gone. I'm very pleased that the solution was so inexpensive.
NOTE: Not everbody will have noise from their accessory socket, sometimes it's bad wiring at the stereo speaker wires, amplifiers, or poor ground connections. You may want to check these first. I personally had an experience on another car where my input cable from the mp3 player developed a bad...
